21 year old European Silver Medalist Muhammad Ali has been handed a ban from the Sport  by UK Anti Doping following his positive test for  Trenbolone which is a steroid while competing in the WSB for the British lion Hearts last year . He will not be able to compete until 2019 at the earliest

Speaking to BBC sports editor Dan Roan, Ali said the outcome, “couldn’t have been any worse” as “all they caught me with was two nanograms. I can’t explain it.”

“I was trying to make 52kg and I wouldn’t want to put muscle on. I was literally trying to cut weight. It doesn’t make sense.

“I thought it would be a six-month suspension or something.

Ali although extremely disappointed is still confident of getting straight back into the GB squad for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. Although it’s currently not a certainty there will be any Boxing in the Olympics in 2020

“It 100% makes me more hungry. I want it more than ever now. Not 1% of me thought this would ever happen to me.

“There’s going to be people saying this and that. I don’t want anyone thinking I’m a bad guy,” he added.

It is an unfortunate situation for the young man but he cannot expect to be treated any differently to any other athlete found with Steroids in their System .
